Back in 2009 – I travelled to Maine – where I made a documentary on a same-sex marriage referendum that was taking place in that state.

As a filmmaker – I was able to gain unprecedented access to both sides of each campaign. However – what I did not disclose to the anti-gay side was my sexuality.

And so at 48 – as a gay man who spent the better part of his adult life struggling to come out -– I was forced to go back “in.” Back into the closet once again.

And for three months – I tried to play it straight in the Lobster State. (No picnic: just sayin’!)

That in part is the story I tell (and sing) in my 90 minute show – “Don’t Cry For Me – My Yeshiva.

“This fascinating piece is a story worth hearing!”
